décor of this mellow old hotel where old-fashioned, solid Victorian
style reflects genteel grandeur.The 54 individual guestrooms are decorated
with antique furnishings and prints. Some rooms are named after the famous
people who once stayed in them, including Judy Garland and Dame Nellie
Melba. An eclectic collection of antique pictures and prints covers every
inch of wall space and the ornate beds are made up with pure white Egyptian

run hotels, The Gore first opened its doors in 1892 as an annexe
to the neighbouring Queen's Gate Mansions Hotel. The two establishments
were linked by a tunnel under Bremner Road. When the other end
became the Bulgarian Embassy, these arrangements were hastily
revised. The Gore offers old fashioned comfort with up-to-date
facilities and is justly famous for its mellow surroundings and
intelligent, friendly staff.A great deal of time and effort has
been invested to maintain a Victorian splendour that leaves you
